My Journey to Nourish Within

ROOTED IN FAMILY, GROWN THROUGH RESILIENCE

My story with wellness started long before certifications and credentials—it began in the kitchen, beside my grandfather.

Growing up in a Filipino family, food was always abundant, rich, and celebrated. Weekends were for cooking & eating together, laughter, and second (or third) helpings—never thinking that those traditions could have long-term consequences.

When I was 11, we lost my grandfather to a preventable, nutrition-related illness popularly known as Type II Diabetes. At first, I bottled up the grief, not fully realizing its impact, yet I knew from observing the grief spread across my family if it was preventable—I would want to never let it happen again. As I grew older, and as I faced my own struggles with body image, puberty, and health challenges, the lessons started sinking in. After years of sports in my teens, I formally quit around my junior year of high school and quickly learned you cannot keep eating like an athlete if you don’t keep burning the energy.

Suddenly, paired with good ol’ puberty, I gained a rapid 20+ pounds. “Hello curvy Kailes!” Soon after, I started getting comments from boys at school. I decided to say goodbye to daily orange chicken bowls at Panda Express and morning McDonalds McGriddles. Time to cook at home more, and pay attention to nutrition labels.

It wasn’t about chasing perfection. It was about honoring my body through better choices, self-awareness, and sustainable change that I could enjoy.

FROM PASSION TO PRACTICE

By the time I finished high school and entered college, I was devouring everything I could about health, nutrition, and movement.

At 17, I fell in love with strength training, hired my first personal trainer, and decided to major in Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences filled with determination to help others long before health crises became inevitable.

Over the years, my career grew from personal training to building a full women’s wellness practice focused on strength, nutrition, and most of all, personal empowerment.

I’ve worked with over a thousand women and men—helping clients truly reverse Type II diabetes, gain strength, nourish their bodies, rebuild confidence, and rediscover joy in their health for the longterm.

Every success story feels like honoring my grandfather’s memory.

TEN YEARS LATER, A DEEPER MISSION

Fast forward 10 years…

As I dove deeper into functional nutrition, I started noticing the same pattern—clients were doing "all the right things" and still struggling. It wasn’t enough to eat cleaner or move more. The droning phrase all the science-bound health professionals would say of “its calories in calories out” was not actually shaking out for certain female clients. They needed answers no one was giving them and I was tired of watching them bounce between practitioners who barely scratched the surface.

So, I went back to school for my Master's in Clinical Nutrition at one of the oldest recognized schools of Functional Medicine in the U.S. It became essential to fill in the gaps and become the practitioner I wished my clients had years ago. I wasn’t going to join the group of self-proclaimed wellness guru’s crowding your TikTok and Instagram feeds.

Today, I combine deep-rooted experience with advanced lab testing and root-cause investigation to help people actually heal—not just manage symptoms.
